Coconut oil has properties such as - antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral , so for centuries is valued as a substance enhancing the overall body resistance. It can be used prophylactically or for various types of medical conditions. It helps the digestive system, speeds up the metabolism. Reduces the risk of diabetes, heart disease and improve cholesterol levels. It contains natural antioxidants .It also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6, C, E, folic acid, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and zinc .Coconut oil strengthens the immune system ,is a natural antibiotic and protection against infections, it is allows for better absorption of calcium and magnesium. It is used both as a food ingredient and also as a cosmetic additive.

Coconut oil and its cosmetic effects:

-Use as an oil for massaging.
-Moisturizing lotion for the body -for use after a bath ( I don't use any other lotions )
- Bath additive - 1/4 cup melted oil pour gently into a tub of water.
- Moisturizes dry, rough skin - eg. feet, elbows.
- Nourish hair - a small amount of coconut oil should be rubbed into your hair ( once a week I put some coconut oil on my hair for about few hours and then wash my hair ).

Coconut oil for infants and young children :
Coconut oil can successfully replace run of the mill products used for young children or baby skin care treatment. Soothes abrasions (from diaper use) apply to affected area.

In my kitchen coconut oil its number one ingredient ,I use it when baking, frying  and I would not change it to another oil.

One product and so many uses :)
